Chris Cunsamy - Executive Recruitment Consultant

Originally from the tropical island of Mauritius, Chris has over 25 years strategic management experience in London, Sydney and Cairns. Mostly with a number of global organisations in the areas of: Business Development, Marketing, Account Management and Human Resources. Having used recruitment companies as both an employer and employee, Chris joined CBC Staff Selection in 2006 to specialise in Executive Recruitment, Engineering and Finance.

Chris is currently developing CBC Staff Selection's presence in the mining sectors and Papua New Guinea, working very closely with various government bodies and conducting on site visits. Chris strongly believes in identifying, nurturing and maximizing one's true potential in order to get the best out of oneself at all times.

Virginia Sharpe - senior recruitment consultant

Virginia joined CBC Selection in mid 2003, after a number of years working in Melbourne, where she gained invaluable experience in staff management, recruitment and internal restructuring.

Now specialising in and exclusively targeting both the Legal and Human Resources sectors, her all round commercial experience along with a professional and ethical approach means she is not only an expert in her specialist markets, but also a very well respected recruiter. With a strong understanding of the local commercial and professional business market and trends, Virginia is a valuable member of the CBC team

Kirsten Le Roux - senior Recruitment Consultant

Kirsten joined CBC Staff Selection in March 2007, when she moved to Cairns, to recruit in permanent administration. With a love of plenty of sunshine and anything in the great outdoors, Cairns was the obvious choice to make her home. Her previous experience in project management and client service roles within the marketing communications industry in South Africa, London, Belfast and Melbourne provided her with a versatile and adaptive background on which to build her recruitment expertise.

Kirsten's portfolio includes recruitment of IT and Sales & Marketing positions as well as overseeing the Temporary and Permanent recruitment area for Administration.

Karen Maguire – Recruitment Consultant

Karen relocated to Cairns from Sydney in 2010. Before making the move to Cairns Karen worked in the community services sector for over 12 years in a senior management role. Prior to that role, Karen worked in the recruitment industry for many years recruiting across a diverse range of industry sectors.

Karen's main focus with the team at CBC Staff Selection is the development of the Community Services market along with adding value to our various tender processes.

Karen's strengths are recruitment, staff development and operational management. She has a love of travel, experiencing new cultures and new challenges.

kerry ellis - Recruitment Consultant

Kerry is a vibrant and positive person with a solid background in administration and finance.  After working in the tourism industry in Cairns for several years, she then worked and travelled throughout the Asia-Pacific region before settling back in the Far North.  Wanting a more people orientated role and with an interest in the recruitment industry, Kerry leapt at the opportunity to become part of the team at CBC Staff Selection. 

With a genuine interest in others, she enjoys the people contact role and excels in her role of Temporary Recruitment Consultant.

Amanda Pilkington - recruitment consultant

Amanda is a vivacious and energetic person with many years' experience in travel and tourism.  Her career path ventured into Human Resources specialising in the retail and tourism sectors both in Australia and London.  With her experience in training, staff development and recruitment, her wealth of knowledge and skill level offers value to both clients and candidates alike.

Joanna Cray – HR Consultant

Jo has over 15 years experience in Human Resources working in Melbourne, Brisbane and more recently Cairns.  Her roles include Senior and HR Management positions in both the commonwealth government and aged care sectors.  Her vast HR experience includes:  managing complex international and local recruitments (and relocations), staff development, learning and development, performance management and staff recognition programs, redundancies, designing and implementing HR policies and procedures and involvement with EBA negotiations.

Currently Jo is working in the role of providing CBC Staff Selection clients a range of HR services: selection criteria assessment and reporting, interview panels, reference checking and outplacement services

SHAUN TAYLOR - Office Manager / it support

Shaun is our Office Manager and is responsible for the day to day operations of the office as well as providing IT support. With a varied background, Shaun started his career within the Australian Defence Force, then moved on to become an Outdoor Activities Co-Ordinator in Millaa Millaa, where he rapidly moved into a managerial role.

More recently, Shaun completed an IT traineeship within an accounting firm.

Louise Eisenmenger - Project Co-Ordinator

Louise has been with CBC Staff Selection since 2004. Working part time, her main focus is on branding, advertising and sponsorships.  With several years' experience working in Human Resources and Recruitment her wealth of knowledge and understanding of the recruitment industry provides strong support both to our consultants and administration team. 

Leaving Cairns in 2000 to live in Los Angeles and then Melbourne, Louise returned with her husband to make Cairns her home where she can pursue her passion for golf and enjoy 'living in paradise'.

Sophie Atlan - Administration Assistant

Adding to the International flair of the team, Sophie was born in the USA, grew up in France and comes to CBC Staff Selection from Perth via Melbourne! With a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French and Italian Sophie has a flair for linguistics.

Poised and professional, Sophie provides customer service for the business and administrative support for the team. Sophie's blossoming interest in HR and recruitment shines through in her passion and dedication to her role as she continues to develop her skills and experience in the Recruitment Industry.

Elizabeth Crook - Receptionist

Liz joined CBC Staff Selection in 2007 and we know her as our 'Director of First Impressions'. She is a sought after career corporate receptionist who has lived in Cairns for over 35 years.  Liz takes pleasure in meeting all the candidates who come to us and in knowing that she contributes to them finding employment. She believes that everyone matters and everyone has special qualities. Prior to joining the CBC Staff Selection team Liz gained a wealth of experience with Ansett Airlines and WHK Greenwoods.

Liz has a passionate regard for art, colour and interior design and loves renovating projects and gardening in her spare time.
