Our client is an electricity retailer to homes and businesses in regional Queensland.

About the Role

Provision and validation of Electrical design and engineering solutions for the Generation Technical Services team. Contribute to the successful performance of the team.

Skill Set Required

  • Provide Electrical engineering accountability for all for Generation Services electrical systems including alternators, voltage regulation, AC power cabling, switchboards, transformers, DC control panels (including control equipment such as programmable logic controllers, load sharing, synchronising equipment etc.), DC cabling, communication protocols, and other Ergon or proprietary software, firmware or hardware as required.
  • Coach, mentor and support the team on Electrical issues.
  • Produce, Specifications, detailed scopes of work and bills of materials.
  • Perform and publish engineering calculations to validate design work.
  • Act as technical representative for tender evaluation and contract purposes
  • Lead engineering investigations.
  • Interpret Australian ISO and other standards and apply to design solutions.
  • Significant contribution to enhancement of department processes and project methodologies.
  • Validation of Electrical design work for compliance with Queensland Professional Engineers Act.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate internal and external service providers to achieve desired outcomes
  • Comply with documentation and processes,
  • Liaise with service providers to achieve desired outcomes
  • Review as constructed drawings
  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction of the Generation Technical Strategic Team.
  • Proactively contribute to effective working relationships with other workgroups (including Network Generation, CSI, Generation Operations and others) to meet stakeholder's expectations
  • Provide information to other teams responsible for system performance, standard construction etc.
  • Support queries on Electrical design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Significant experience in 2D Electrical design with CAD tools
