WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT CBC?
What really stands out in my job is that there is never a dull moment. It’s such a fast-paced environment which keeps me on my toes. Being part of diverse client and candidate conversations is so interesting as I learn so much and also, being able to provide the right solutions to help people get the results they need through recruitment.

It’s important to have fun at work and that’s something the CBC team does particularly well – we really do have the best of both worlds.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST SOURCE OF ENJOYMENT IN RECRUITMENT?
Making a positive change to people’s lives is what gives me the most job satisfaction. We spend such a huge portion of our time at work, so it’s important to be in a company which not only empowers you but develops your strengths and has a culture that fits with your personality and work ethics.

Often clients come to me with staffing problems so being able to solve them and play an integral role in the ongoing success of their organisation, is a big responsibility which I take very seriously. Through the effective placement of staff, I am proud to provide real benefits to their daily operations.

WHERE DO YOU FEEL YOU ADD VALUE TO CANDIDATES WHO ARE LOOKING FOR WORK?
Everyone is different but by providing strategic advice on how candidates present themselves and their resumes to potential employers, is something which I particularly enjoy.

WHAT’S YOUR RECRUITMENT SUPER POWER?
Emotional Intelligence and the ability to read people quickly are essential to what I do. By relating to people and finding common ground, I’m able to be more effective in my role.

IF YOU ASKED A CLIENT TO DESCRIBE YOU, WHAT WOULD THEY SAY?
They would probably say that I am true to my word, honest, hard working and a good communicator who focusses on providing a quality service.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR CAREER?
When I walked into CBC Staff Selection to look for my next career move, I had never considered one in recruitment, but when the idea was put to me, and I met the team, I was sold and have never regretted that decision.

IS THERE A CLIENT, CANDIDATE OR PROJECT THAT STANDS OUT?
John Cameron who I placed as the General Manager of the Cairns Jockey Club is a real standout for me. He has made a real difference to the ongoing success of that business and lifted it to another level.
