At CBC Staff Selection, it’s all about finding the right candidate for the right job.

CBC was established in 1988 and this year, the team celebrates their 30th year of successful operation. The company provides temporary, permanent and contract staff to a wide range of sectors including Executive & General Management, Administration, Legal, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Community Services, IT and Engineering & Technical.

Business manager Vicki McGown said CBC has established an enviable reputation within the recruitment industry by consistently delivering a personalised and comprehensive service to both clients and candidates.

“Our team of consultants are experienced and passionate recruiters who understand the importance of identifying the right person for the right job.”

“We have a thorough knowledge of the Cairns region. Our staff have a wide-ranging background in recruitment and extensive knowledge of current trends in jobs and the employment market. We understand that the employment landscape is constantly evolving, that businesses are thriving, and we want to be part of that.”

“CBC has many long-term clients, so we understand their business culture, how they operate and what they stand for. It’s not a numbers game or about filling a seat. We know the clients we work with and take time to fully understand their company culture, so we can find the best fit for their team.”

“We assist our registered candidates with interview preparation, offer advice on how they can improve their resume and guide them through the process, so they have the best possible chance of securing their dream job” said Vicki.

Vicki said she loves working with people who have such a high level of professionalism and passion.

“This has truly cemented the reputation of CBC across Cairns. The team really focuses on getting to know their candidates and clients not only on paper, but in person. This delivers an effective, efficient approach to ensure that careers and businesses move forward.”

CBC Director Sally Mlikota’s commitment to the development of local businesses and candidates is cemented by her role as Board member of the Cairns Chamber of Commerce Committee and the Honorary Consul of Sweden. Sally also previously held the role of President of the Cairns Business Women’s Club for several years.

“My passion is helping people to create successful careers and assisting businesses in attracting an engaging and productive team. Businesses are built by the people around them and are therefore a major contributor to growth, which makes selecting the best individuals, vital.”

“With over 30 years’ experience in recruiting for executive and senior professional roles, I specialise in attracting the best talent to lead our clients’ businesses.”

“Helping people gain confidence is key to my role. By developing a candidate’s resume to a high standard which really showcases their skills and experience, we can give them access to the best opportunities in the market” said Sally.

At CBC, it’s not just about those already in the workforce. Sally is also a member of the State Government’s ‘Mentoring for Growth’ program which provides advice to new businesses in the region.

CBC’s commitment to the region is further reinforced by their sponsorship of the Business Liaison Association for the past 20 years. This provides a vital link between education and business. By investing in the next generation, CBC helps to equip school leavers with the tools they need to find work from the outset.

Sally is the Patron of FNQ Cerebral Palsy group and has previously enjoyed participating in the Great Wheelbarrow race and sponsoring this wonderful event on an ongoing basis.
